I have been a genealogical researcher for over twenty (20) years.   There are a lot of books that instruct you "how to do" genealogy.  I think I have read them all!  Unfortunately, I am a descendant of those who did not leave a very good paper trail.  Thus, I must think “outside the box” or in this case “outside the books”.   I have met and spoken with professional genealogists in the field.  When I am working for others, they remind me to tell you we all have past skeletons in our ancestry closet - you are the future - move on.

I get a warm and fuzzy feeling, when I am contacted years later, by someone that was contacted by a client I helped to gather their facts for their family records.  It is a gratifying to see your name up in "lights" so to speak or printed in the acknowledgement page of  a book that someone has produced thanking you for helping them gather the facts so they could compile their family reunion's history book.
